PANAGIOTIS KALOGIANNIS

12-11-2010 to 11-12-2010

This is the presentation of 20 large and small engravings, linoleum and 6 large drawings, pencil on paper, excellent quality and technique.

The means used by P. Kalogiannis in his art are simple, unpretentious, close to the realistic depiction, with an emphasis on emotion with a surreal mood. Tightly structured shapes structure his painting surface without laxity with engravings on black spots of color, gestures and black placards to define its volumes on the white, undefined background.

The shocking journey, starting with the portrait and ending with the chaos, through a mood of understanding and mapping the technological-social conditions that define and delimit the psyche and the ontological state of man in general, had the opportunity to follow and decode – everyone according to his personal abilities to read and clarify the semiology of the work – those who attended the opening of the first solo exhibition of P. Kalogiannis.

The art historian Maria Kenanidou and Manolis Giannadakis, professor of the School of Fine Arts and head of the engraving department who decorated the first solo exhibition of P. Kalogiannis, as well as the artists of the Diaspora Nikos Terz spoke about the artist’s work. , lives and works in Stockholm, Marios Eleftheriadis, lives and works in Limoges and the president of the Cultural Center of Hellenism in Stockholm Mr. Andreas Boukas.
